Palazzo Firmian: guided visit
Guided visit by Francesca Dagostin (art historian)

Palazzo Firmian, safeguards outstanding artistic and historical evidence and it’s among the most interesting Renaissance buildings in Trento (at present it hosts the UniCredit bank). Its magnificent Renaissance portal, beautiful friezes, wooden ceilings, its seventeenth-century stucco and frescoes recount the age-old story of the building and of the Firmian family who owned it until the second half of the eighteenth century.
Founded in the second half of the fifteenth century by the will of Nicholas Firmian, the building was used as a representative office of the Tyrolean noble family.
On the occasion of "Open Palazzos" you can admire the exceptional decorations on the first floor, with frescoes attributed to master Fogolino’s workshop, court artist of the Prince Bishops of Trento Bernardo Clesio and Cristoforo Madruzzo; on the ground floor there are the precious cycle dedicated to Bacchus and other seventeenth-century allegorical decorations.
Meeting place in front of the UniCredit bank in Via G. Galilei, 1 Guided tours are in limited numbers.
