Pomaria

Pomaria is an event that stars the Strada della Mela e dei Sapori apple associations in Val di Non and the Strada del Vino e dei Sapori wine associations in Trentino, with focus on newly harvested Melinda apples, traditions and local food.

Its name, from the Latin pomarium or orchard, honour of Pomona, goddess of orchards, stands for the strong link with an ancient land that values the past for better awareness of its local culture.

The streets in the centre of the town of Casez come alive with re-enactment of old crafts and trades, music, market stalls and an apple exhibition. Apples can be picked straight off the trees together with one of the 4000 families of Melinda fruit-farmers, or learn to bake a classic strudel to take home, vote for the “Most delicious of them all” and take part in lots of other fun, tasty activities for young and old.

Visitors will be able to taste wines and local delicacies:  Groppello di Revò wine, our Melinda D.O.P. Mela Val di Non apples, Casolét cheese and smoked Mortandéla, Slow Food Presidium.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful sights of the Val di Non and the Val di Sole, taking long walks and participating in all the activities on offer.

For children there are games to play, storytelling and initiatives that teach them about the wonders of nature.

17.00 Theatre show for children “Mela Racconti” (“Will you tell me a story?”) organized by Iride Theatre Association at the parish theatre of Cles. Free entrance.
18.30 Opening of the photographic exhibition “Montagna oltre la natura. Il paesaggio interpretato” (i.e. “Mountain beyond nature. Landscape interpreted") at the assessor’s palace of Cles.

11.00 Event opening with parade and marching band concert by Corpo Bandistico Clesiano.
12.00 Opening of the stand Associazione Artigiani (Association of Artisans), in the car park of the association - piazza Battisti.
14.00 Celebration event organized by GSH Social Co-operative: 25 years of solidarity.
15.30 Show Cooking organized by Condotta Slow Food Terre del Noce.
16.00 Theatre show for children “L’Aviatore” (“The Aviator”) in the orchard in Corso Dante.
16.30 Music and dance show with the groups: “Dolomiti Horn Quartet” and Associazione Dancingsoul.
17.30 Show Cooking by Chef Andrea - Ristorante Viridis.
18.00 Concert by Coralità Clesiana in the Giardino De Bertolini.
18.00 Panel discussion “Quali strategie per lo sviluppo della frutticoltura biologica nelle Valli del Noce?” ( “Which strategies for the development of organic fruit farming in Valle del Noce?” - Sala Baronale at the assessor’s palace.
From 17.00: Aperitif – “Tortel di patate” (typical local potato-cake) and artisanal beers of Trentino.
From 20.00 to 23.00: competition final “Play! Your Music” in collaboration with Associazione Occhi Futuri - Giovani di Cles
