RISK InSight
Is living with the risk really a catastrophe?

We live risky situations every day and sometimes we don't realize that or we even think such risks affect only the others.
Risks are part of our society, that's why the most serious ones are monitored and supervised by institutions, researchers and other professionals who constantly work to safeguard our safety.
Nonetheless, there are some events that are unpredictable and in several occasions we're unprepared when facing a risk; will such situations turn into catastrophes?
In these days, after the recent terrible earthquake that has destroyed some regions in the centre of Italy, the Italians are wondering how we can identify the dangers and the vulnerability of the territory in which we live and implement a proper policy of prevention: how can we defend ourselves?
From 1 October to 29 November at the MUSE, the exhibition Risk inSight - curated by Valerie November of CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and director of the Techniques, Territories and Societies Lab - illustrates the many ways of approaching social, political, scientific and technical risks.
