Rediscovered masterpieces. Giuseppe Craffonara's beginning

The purchase and restoration of the painting Compianto sul corpo di Cristo (Lamentation over the Body of Christ) are at the center of the Christmas exhibition of the MAG Museo Alto Garda, dedicated to Giuseppe Craffonara, painter from Riva del Garda, and major exponent of Neoclassicism in Trentino in the 19th century.

The exhibition “Capolavori ritrovati. Gli esordi di Giuseppe Craffonara” (Rediscovered Masterpieces. Giuseppe Craffonara's beginnings), curated by Matteo Rapanà in collaboration with Marina Botteri and Chiara Radice, from 27 November 2021 to 9 January 9 2022, focuses on the new acquisition to enhance the works of the artist which already belong to the collections of the MAG.
