RENZO PIANO: L’ARCHITETTO DELLA LUCE (THE ARCHITECT OF LIGHT)
by Carlos Saura
Spain - 2018, run time: 80'
Sweet dreams are made of this. And architects do need to dream. To be adventurers, explorers, searching for the lost city of Atlantis. At least, that’s true for Renzo Piano, the Italian architect among the most famous in the world, who designed the Centre Pompidou, the Parco della Musica and some of the New York Times buildings. To tell the story about this architecture genius there is Carlos Saura, a cinematographic genius, who follows Piano while he’s planning the Centro Botìn in Santander. The movie is a reflection on the creative process in its spread. To make us understand that Art, is it Cinema or Architecture, it’s not a predictable act. And that sometimes, you just have to give your eyes the time to see.
