Researchers' Night

Demo and hands-on experiments, meetings on research, dinners with researchers and other events

Meetings and conferences , Cultural exhibitions and events

The European Researchers' Night will take place on Friday 28 September across Europe and beyond. It is an initiative of the European Commission since year 2005; it aims to bring researchers closer to the general public and to increase awareness of research and innovation activities, with a view to supporting the public recognition of researchers, creating an understanding of the impact of researchers' work on citizen’s daily life, and encouraging young people to embark on research careers.

Activities focus on the general public, addressing and attracting people regardless of the level of their scientific background, with a special focus on pupils and students. Activities can combine education aspects with entertainment, especially when addressing young audiences. They can take various forms, e.g. hands-on experiments, science shows, simulations, debates, games, competitions, quizzes, etc.

Trento hosts The Researchers’ night too, to join ideally researchers in Trento with their colleagues in over 300 cities in Europe. The programme will include a variety of events, such as science corners, meetings on research and dinners with researchers.
