Music: Stravinski: The Rite of Spring - Gershwin: Rapsodia in Blu

The Duo Maclé, composed of pianists Sabrina Dente and Annamaria Garibaldi, is a renowned and prestigious formation in the Italian chamber scene.

In this concert they will perform two masterpieces of the history of twentieth-century music, in their four-handed piano version: Igor Stravinski's Spring Festival, and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, which represent two different aspects of the twentieth-century musical research: on the one hand, Gershwin's attempt of fusion between jazz and classical music, which in 1924 gave birth to one of the most famous and beloved pieces of all time, and on the other hand, Stravinski's revolutionary Spring Festival, which in 1913 changed the aesthetic canons of Stravinski, and timbres of Western cultured music, giving cue to everything that would later happen in the aftermath of the century.
