Sakura Festival

"In this world we walk on the roof of hell gazing at flowers"
Kobayashi Issa
The "Sakura" Festival is inspired by the "hanami" ("gazing at flowers") custom, which is celebrated in Japan in April for the arrival of Spring.
A poetic moment, of rebirth and celebration of nature and mankind, which goes beyond the appearance and that, in the Japanese culture, is a metaphor of samurais' life: "an explosion of colour before nature runs its course..."
Japan has always been topic of curiosity and charm: the Sakura Festival wants to create an active and participating field. For the occasion, a real festival in Rovereto will be the set of the meeting between the Japanese and the Italian cultures and will tell Japan through its many aspects (also the social ones) between modernity and antiquity.
Visitors will discover a new world - and of unexpected complexity - through sounds, sensations, fragrances and flavours to be experienced at conferences, art exhibitions, workshops, shows and music performances. In short, a full-immersion into the multicultural world to bring to life new exchanges and different points of view.
The Sakura Festival will take place on April 17, 18 and 19 in different areas of Rovereto coinciding with the flowering time of cherry blossoms.
