San Romedio. A thousand years of history, art and devotion
Opening of the permanent exhibition

With Franco Marzatico, Director of the Department for Cultural Heritage of Trento and Tiziano Mellarini, Councillor Responsible for culture of the Autonomous Province of Trento
Between 2012 and 2016, the Autonomous Province of Trento, via the local Department for Cultural Heritage, funded important restoration works for the enhancement of the
Sanctuary of San Romedio.
At the end of these works on this extraordinary monument of history, art, faith and popular devotion, an exhibition has been mounted in three spaces on the ground floor of the sanctuary; this new permanent exhibition is meant to present Saint Romedius, to illustrate the iconography of the sanctuary, to make known some archaeological finds that were found at the foot of the cliff, and to showcase a selection of ex voto, restored for the occasion, as well as some frescoed frames.
In a word, this exhibition itinerary recounts the historical, artistic, iconographic, religious and devotional aspects of one of the most beautiful shrines in the Alpine region.
