Sonata Islands Trio

The interweaving of jazz and classical music in the 20th century travels many paths.
John Williams, the great composer of blockbuster soundtracks (here with Escapades in transcription for flute and piano).
Charlie's Prelude (made famous in versions by Duke Ellington and Don Byron) is a sort of ragtime reading of Chopin's Fourth Prelude; also by Chopin, the Valse No. 2 op 34, surprisingly revisited by Mario Laginha in 2/4.
Maurice Ravel's Sonata for Violin and Piano (1927) reveals the great composer's attention to the newborn jazz (the second half is a Blues).
Nino Rota's Trio shows the other side of the great composer of Fellini's soundtracks.
