Gianluigi Buffon, Bob Beamon, Federica Pellegrini, Toni Kukoc are just a few names, but they are enough to understand what the fifth edition of the 2022 Sports Festival "Moments of Glory" will be all about.

Opening with Gianluigi Buffon on Thursday 22 September at the Teatro Sociale: Zico and Falcao, Zanetti and Batistuta, Klinsmann, to tell what soccer is in their countries, from Brazil to Argentina, to Germany. And then Gullit and Sacchi to tell about the great AC Milan; Bergomi, Causio and Collovati with Enzo Bearzot's daughter to go back to the 1982 Mundial; and again Capello, Collina, Vieri, Seedorf, Marchisio and Chiellini.

At the presentation of the fifth edition of the Sports Festival, Rcs Mediagroup chairman and CEO Urbano Cairo raises the alarm about the costs of soccer and about a model that is no longer sustainable. Watch the video Cairo: "Families at home suffer, soccer must be sustainable".

Toni Kukoc will revive the tradition of basketball greats between Nba and Europe; then let's meet new Italian head coach Pozzecco and the great strikers of the Italian basketball in the 1970s and 1980s, Jura, Morse and Riva.

As to volley, let's meet Ivan Zaytsev and the protagonists of the women's world title Piccinini and Lo Bianco.

The winter sports season is close, and it  will be rich as never before this year: Sofia Goggia will meet her idol and great friend Lindsey Vonn, Dominik Paris will meet Aksel Lund Svindal, Federica Brignone will talk with Deborah Compagnoni, Michela Moioli and Omar Visintin will narrate their incredible Olympic adventure in snowboarding, Arianna Fontana will open her world together with her husband Anthony Lobello. And then there will be a women event in anticipation of Milan-Cortina 2026 and an event dedicated to the Ryder Cup, which will land in Trento accompanied by president Franco Chimenti, by Rome 2023 general manager Gian Paolo Montali and Costantino Rocca.

SO MANY LEGENDS — Isn't it enough? Here are other stars taking part in the festival: Bebe Vio, Martin Castrogiovanni, Federica Pellegrini, Thomas Ceccon, Benedetta Pilato. For motors: Gehrard Berger, Troy Bayliss; cycling: Vincenzo Nibali; climbing: Tommy Caldwell; athletics: Jacobs, Sara Simeoni, Bob Beamon. And the list of participants is not ready jet!

OPEN UP TO THE WORLD — "The Festival will go all over the world, as it should and as investors will like it. The Gazzetta dello Sport tells about emotions and great feats", says editor of the newspaper Stefano Barigelli. "We are an ancient and at the same time modern newspaper, and the Festival - wanted by Urbano Cairo, president of Rcs Mediagroup, and excellently directed by Gianni Valenti - is a testimony to this. We have an international vocation; we are the only ones in the world to have covered all the Olympics. International sportsmen gladly come to us. In Trento they find a relaxed dimension, the champions feel at ease. Trento then is an ideal city, it knows how to welcome you and participate without being intrusive".

THE WORLD IN THE SQUARES — Coni (the Italian National Olympic Committee) President Malagò has sent a message: "I have experienced in person the previous four editions of the Festival, and it is impressive the work that has been done. We are proud of it, it is one of the things that show that in Italy we know how to organize great things at all levels in sports."

TALKS IN THE COURTYARDS — "We have learned to adapt, we have been working for a year, and the enthusiasm around the Festival has been a wonderful fuel," adds Maurizio Rossini, managing director of Trentino Marketing. "We are the sportiest province in Italy. We host the Festival because of this. In the squares we will practice sports: basketball and padel in piazza Fiera, volleyball nearby, climbing in piazza Santa Maria Maggiore, and then athletics, sport fishing, and Bmx." In addition to the squares and palaces, Trento will also open its courtyards for the first time, for a schedule of talks on the great stories and personalities of sports that will feature Dan Peterson, Walter Veltroni, Aldo Cazzullo and Gianfelice Facchetti, among others.
