Standschützen

Front in Tyrol 1915-1918

exhibition , Photographic exhibition

The Museum presents a selection of pictures of the military formations made up of members of the Imperial shoot stand and of Vorarlberg, that were engaged by the Austro-Hungarian army on the South Tyrol front during the First World War.

The pictures, rare and often unpublished, were taken between 1915 and 1918 in war zones: from the Sesto Dolomites to the Val di Fassa, from Lagorai to Vallagarina, and they belong to archives and private collections. They show scenes from the trenches and moments of daily life of numerous Standschützen battalions: Innsbruck, Enneberg, Bozen, Kufstein, Brixen, Merano, Landeck, Nauders-Ried, Reutte.
