His most recent album, Arrivano gli Alieni (The Aliens are Coming) is a perfect example of what happens when Stefano Bollani sits at his piano and starts to play, to improvise: he plays everything - jazz standards, old Italian songs, pop songs, classical compositions. And sometimes he sings, too, with all the poise of an accomplished entertainer. This is only to be expected, because Stefano Bollani is a versatile performer who likes to surprise not just his audience but most of all himself. He is always fascinating, in the mountains as elsewhere.

How to get there

from Campitello di Fassa take the Col Rodella cable car then footpath 557 to Rifugio Sassopiatto and footpath 533 to Rifugio Micheluzzi (return to Campitello after the concert via Val Duron)

from Campitello di Fassa take footpath no. 529 (Via Crucis) as far as Pian then take the forestry track following the signs for Val Duron
2 hrs, vertical ascent 400 metres, difficulty E  

A shuttle bus service (a charge applies) will operate from Campitello di Fassa to Rifugio Micheluzzi from 7 to 9 am and from 5 to 7 pm for the way back
