ou can be sure of one thing when you attend one of Stefano Bollani’s concerts: you will be taken on one of the most rewarding and dazzling journeys that you have ever had. This is because this brilliant, eclectic Milanese pianist turns every performance into a ceaseless exploration of the most diverse musical forms and genres, drawing on arias and learning from great masters he overturns and reinvents sounds and rhythms. A magical and multi-faceted experiment for a musician who is now one of the most famous exponents of Italian jazz. Bollani began playing the piano at the age of six and made his professional debut at fifteen. His collaborations since then have produced some of the finest musical experiences in recent years and include a long-term venture with Enrico Rava, and performances as soloist with the Leipzig and Paris symphony orchestras, the La Scala Orchestra of Milan and the Santa Cecilia Orchestra of Rome, to name but a few. He has also played with Pat Metheny, Gato Barbieri, Richard Galliano, Lee Konitz, Caetano Veloso, Chick Corea, Phil Woods and Chico Buarque.
