The Battle of Stalingrad - It Happened That Day

Meetings and conferences

On 17 July 1942 the Battle of Stalingrad began, one of the bloodiest and most important battles of World War II.

After being repelled at the gates of Moscow, the Nazis launched a new offensive in southern Russia, but to achieve their goals they had to seize a strategic and symbolic city on the banks of the Volga: Stalingrad.

The stubborn resistance of the men and women of the Red Army will turned it into a death trap.

Event organised by the Educational Area of the Trentino history museum foundation.
