The Eurasian lynx in the Alps

Meetings and conferences
Ph. L. Baratter

What is the presence of the lynx in the Alps? What are the conservation projects for the species?

Following last July 30's successful conference - dedicated to the return of the wild cat - on Saturday 3 September (starting at 9:30 at the "Josef Bacher" Municipal Hall on Costalta Street in Luserna) another important wild feline will be discussed.

This initiative is connected to the exhibition "Felines of the Alps," hosted at the Luserna Documentation Center until 6 November.

The conference on 3 September will be attended by some of the top scholars: Paolo Molinari (Lynx Italy Project) will talk about the biology and ecology of the Lynx lynx; Anja Jobin (Status and Conservation of the Alpine-Lynx population) will bring updated data on the presence of the lynx in the Alpine area; Graziano Busettini (Lynx Italy Project) will talk about the disappearance and return of this predator, and Cristiano Manni (Carabinieri/Biodiversity Group) will explain the ongoing conservation project.
