The untouchables are a group of agents chosen and led by Eliot Ness (Kevin Costner) who fight the band of Al Capone (Robert De Niro) during the years of prohibition, in Chicago. De Palma took the characters of a popular TV series of the 50s and made it a crime drama that bears his unmistakable mark. The scene at the station, where the wheelchair descends out of control down the staircase, is a little diamond of direction. Sean Connery in the role of the cop Jim Malone won the first and only Oscar of his career as best supporting actor.
