The archipelago of generations

Meeting with Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet, psychiatrist and psychotherapist

Meetings and conferences

In the "liquid matter" of this time that weakens all hierarchies, relations between generations are also experiencing confusing transformations. While the digital revolution increasingly separates the horizons of young and old, conflicts between generations seem to have gone out of fashion. This is apparently positive, but hides a crucial question: is it not on the shared divide between young and old that one's identity is being structured? And if parental authority tends towards extinction, school loses importance and the world of work fuels illusions and fears, when does the moment of responsibility arrive for young people? The acuity and sensitivity of one of the most important Italian psychiatrists and psychotherapists, Gustavo Pietropolli Charmet, accompanies us to explore the archipelago of generations, to critically re-read the models that characterise it and learn how to build healthy and conscious relationships, in the family and in the community.
