Marina Camboni from the University of Macerata will be the guest of the meeting “The depiction of identities in American poetry”. American literature and Modernist scholar, with a particular interest for poetry, she is author of works on G. Stein, W. Carlos Williams, W. Whitman, A. Ginsberg and A. Rich. During the meeting she will introduce a discussion on the poem “Emily Carr”, dedicated by the American poetess Adrienne Rich to the Canadian author and writer, who was deeply linked to the north-west native tradition.

The conversation will start with a reflection on the definition of “revolutionary poetry” given by Adrienne Rich. This will be done through the reading of some verses of American contemporary poems chosen by Francesca Berguecio, Elsa Paredes Bertagnolli, Giovanna Covi, Lisa Marchi and Cristiana Pagliarusco e through a dance by Rosa Tapia on Frida Kahlo.
