The photo archive, the Friends of Art and the beautiful Riva del Garda

with Roberta Bonazza

Meetings and conferences , Conference

The second lecture starts from the museum's photographic archive to reach the temporary exhibition dedicated to artist Giovanni Bonat and the town Riva del Garda of his time.

We will discover how the great local artistic and cultural ferment in the 1950s and 1960s gave life to one of the most creative and prolific seasons of the Gruppo Amici dell'Arte (Friends of Art).

The meeting focuses on one of these old archive photos, a testimony to a time when the desire for reconstruction was combined with the collective, artistic and expressive work of citizens, associations and institutions.

The Rocca di Riva (Riva Castle) is at the centre of the story; it was once the cultural and operational centre of the Amici dell'Arte, and now home to the Museum of Riva del Garda with its photographic archives.

The meeting will be held by Roberta Bonazza, curator of the exhibition "Giovanni Bonat. Il paesaggio e la bella Riva degli anni Sessanta" (The landscape and the beautiful Riva of the 1960s)
