The shadow of the unicorn.

Past, present and future of rhinos

Enormous and potentially dangerous, but also incredibly vulnerable. The biggest threat to rhinoceroses is the market that rotates around their horns.

The star of the temporary exhibition “The unicorn’s shadow. The rhinoceros: past, present and future” is Toby, the huge white rhinoceros from the Parco Natura Viva nature park in Bussolengo in the province of Verona. Finds, images and videos tell of the biology, evolution, fame, threats and measures taken to protect these gigantic, archaic animals.

Exhibition curated by Osvaldo Negra and Alessandra Pallaveri, MUSE.
