Trentino Music Festival for Mezzano Romantica
A rich series of events during a month with Music Academy International of New York, directed by Mitchell Piper
For the 5th consecutive year the Music Academy International will put on a lot of concerts of several musical genres from 4 July.
Some operas are on schedule too: Dark Sisters by Nico Muhly (first time in Europe), Alcina by Handel, Suor Angelica e Gianni Schicchi by Puccini and Hansel e Gretel by Humperdinck.
Considering the great success of the past editions, also this year two Musicals will be performed: Cabaret by Kander and Ebb and Evita by Rice and Lloyd Webber; they will be set on stage by the students of the Academy, with vocal director Marishka Wierzbicki and director Jason the Board.
Concerts of The Festival Orchestra: pieces by Dvorak, Berlioz and Mendelssohn, directed by Maestro David Jackson.
New in 2018: homage to Leonard Berstein, a hundred years after his birth, with a lot of instrumental and vocal events. Orchestra leaders: David Gately, Ophelia Wolf and Patrizia Di Paolo, soprano Jeanne Michel Charbonnet, baritone Christopher Magiera.
Furthermore, the Festival organises courses of chamber music coordinated by Maestro Nicholas Duchamp (flautist), and Maestro Jarolslaw Lis (violinist).
On 17th August, special event: concert by Italian pianist Roberto Plano.
In 2016 Autumn he was the first italian pianist being owner of a Chair of Piano of one of the most prestigious american university, the Boston University.
The Music Academy International chose also this year Mezzano as place to host its courses of improvement, held by worldwide famous musician, whose participate a lot of students from all over the world.
