“Giovanni Segantini - La magia della luce (The magic of the light)” by Christian Labhart (Switzerland / 2015 / 82') is a fascinating portrait of the Trentino master, one of the most charming figures of the late 19th-century European painting. After its success in Switzerland, Germany and Austria and the winning of the award for the Best Biography at the Festival International du Film sur l’Art 2016 in Montréal, the film comes for the first time in Italy at the Trento Film Festival 2016.
“Giovanni Segantini - La magia della luce (The magic of the light)” offers an insight into the difficult childhood and adolescence of Segantini, shows the processes and the internal conflicts faced as an artist, explores his contradictory relationship with maternal love and eroticism and eventually depicts his desperate fight against death.
