The Trio Leonardo was formed in 1996 with the aim of pursuing a path of discovery of a rich but rarely heard repertoire. It developed from the timbral fascination that arose from the combination of flute, viola and harp and was brought to light by Claude Debussy's Deuxieme sonatas.
From this piece, the Trio Leonardo's research developed, which came to explore the music of our time, also through collaboration with Italian composers, in particular with Daniele Zanettovich, whose pieces the Trio has premiered and maintains in its repertoire.
Andrea Dainese, Giancarlo Di Vacri and Elisabetta Ghebbioni come from varied musical backgrounds: together they have performed in Italy, Europe, the United States and Australia. In the Trio Leonardo they have found the opportunity to make the most of what they had produced in their careers, bringing everything together to a point of understanding and harmony uncommon for this type of formation.
