New event of UTOPIA500-Looking for a fairer society, to be found in the agenda of the Trento Film Festival on Wednesday 4th May at 19.00 in the hall of the Caritro Foundation in Trento: “The utopia of passions. Loving men who belong to the Infinite”. With Laura Mancuso D'Arrigo, Manuela Sparapani Nones, Silke Perathoner Unterkircher. Arianna Bazzanella introduces the conversation, Paolo Ghezzi leads it.
Three brave women who remember their three men (two great mountain climbers, Walter Nones and Karl Unterkircher, and an extraordinary hang-glider, Angelo d'Arrigo), passed away while chasing their dreams at great heights. A way to say that utopia is also the search for “Eu-topia”, that is for good, high, different and untouched places.
When the search for these “different heights” ends up tragically with the death of the protagonists – as it happened in different places at different moments to Angelo (Comiso, 2006), Karl ( Nanga Parbat, 2008) and Walter ( Cho Oyu, 2010) – the question on the sense of these extreme challenges arises. They're a form of selfishness, of delusions of grandeur, or an existential need for men who feel called to a sort of vocation, the urgency to explore the world almost to the limits of the Infinite.
This will be discussed on Wednesday 4th May at 19.00 at Caritro by Laura Mancuso, Manuela Sparapani and Silke Perathoner, women who knew their men like no other and women who, in turn, know the dizziness of heights. And the ones of love.
