Wood, material of the future

Meetings and conferences

As part of the National Research Council's centenary celebrations, the event "Wood, material of the future", organised by the Institute for Bioeconomics of the CNR (National Research Council) and co-funded by the Autonomous Region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, will be held at the MUSE - Science Museum in Trento on 9 and 10 June.

The event intends to examine in a multidisciplinary manner the recent scientific results and future prospects of research in the field of wood, a natural material at the basis of the civilisation and culture of mountain regions, a pillar of the local economy and territorial balances and an element of paramount importance in facing the great challenges of ecological transition and sustainability.

Science on show - interactive exhibits and short presentations Researchers and researchers from the CNR, universities, consortiums, companies, NGOs, will talk about and showcase prototypes, inventions, demonstrations, tools that are the result of research and that can be useful in creating a more eco-sustainable future. We will see CO2 absorbed by plants, mushrooms, experience earthquakes and earthquake shelters, touch materials, buildings and packaging of the future, turn wood into gas, observe trees and forests mitigating climate change, smell the scents of wood and remember researcher Giulio Regeni.
