Yakarou Elleuk - Hope in the future

The story, told by dancers and musicians, is meant to represent the fear of the unknown, but above all the expectations and hopes of those who embark on a journey that will lead them to cope with a totally different reality from their homeland.

Leaving from a small village in Senegal, Ndongo, full of Yakarou Elleuk - hope in the future -says goodbye to his loved ones during joyous celebrations by those who believe he's privileged. The journey is hard, long and exhausting, and once he's on the foreign soil, things do not improve: he has problems with the language, bureaucracy and mistrust towards people with different habits...

One day, a meeting with a white woman definitely changes his life: the birth of their child makes up for all the suffering and fears. Finally his hope in the future finds its foundation and achievement in their sharing, union and love. In fact, love in these cases has no boundaries.
