Travelling Solar Cinema 2017

Returning from five long months in West Africa, the truck of the Travelling Solar Cinema has come back to Trentino for a long series of new events.

The Travelling Solar Cinema is a truck equipped to travel around the world and bring unseen films to children in unusual places. It is an international network of solar powered mobile cinemas. All equipment of the mobile cinemas is powered by 100% solar energy. After sunset open-air film screenings are organised in the public space.

The last trip was from Rovereto to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and return: 15,000 kilometers and 5 months’ trip to spread the cinema culture and offer opportunities of exchange and knowledge.

In particular, this year the project has focused on the risks of irregular immigration (in collaboration with the national cooperation project “CinemArena” offering film showings, entertainment and debates).
