A touch of green in Val di Non for the GLOBAL GREENING 2021!

Castel Thun and Val di Non valley have been chosen by Tourism Ireland in honour of St Patrick

The Thun Castle, one of the most important castles in the Alps, is one of 42 Italian sites that will light up green in honour of St Patrick's Day: the initiative involves around 630 prestigious locations worldwide on the occasion of the Global Greening 2021.

Tourism Ireland is the prestigious cultural initiative that started 11 years ago in Australia with the green illumination of the iconic Sydney Opera House to celebrate St Patrick's Day.

On 17 March, from 21.00 to 23.00, the Thun Castle in Val di Non will light up green as a sign of friendship towards Ireland.

Around the world, other 630 sites will do the same, as for example the London Eye, the Niagara Falls, the Sidney Opera House, the Sky Tower in Auckland, the Victoria Falls, the Sekenani Gate in Kenya, The Palm Fountain in Dubai and the Costanera Tower in Chile.

Don't miss St Patrick's Day at Home with Tourism Ireland, 90 minutes live from Ireland, including live music, dance and other surprises. It will be streamed live on TURISM IRELAND's youtube and facebook channels on 17 March, starting at 20.00.
