Chair of Comparison 2017

"Today's words: complexity, velocity, fragility" on the focus

"Today's words: complexity, velocity, fragility" are on the focus this year for the Chair of Comparison.

Organized by the Diocesan office for culture and university, once again the topics to deal with offer the opportunity for reflection and discussion in a dialectical perspective that concern different generations.
Our present times are asking us for increased skills in order to carry out more and more tasks even if time is short, and the paradox is that new technologies haven't improved our quality of life. Actually, our life has become more complex, more vulnerable, more exposed to that fragility we have to cope with every day.

The much appreciated style distinguishing the Chair of Comparison is indeed based on the comparison between a secular and a religious perspective.

On Monday 20 March Chiara Saraceno (sociologist) and Luciano Manicardi (monk) will deal with the topic of "complexity".

On 27 March Stefano Fantoni (physicist) and Notker Wolf (monk) will deal with the topic of "velocity".

Finally, on 3 April, Maria Antonella Galanti (pedagogue) and Hermes Ronchi (theologian) will discuss " fragility".

All meetings will take place in the sala della Cooperazione (Trento, via Segantini) at 20.45.
