Discover Roman Trento with VR headset until 31 January

More than 1300 visitors for the virtual reality project at the Vantini Chapel

1,300 visitors have enjoyed the virtual reality project hosted at the Cappella Vantini in Trento (in via delle Orne 1, near Palazzo Thun), during its first month of operation. Until 31 January it will be possible to wear a VR headset and dive into the atmosphere of ancient Roman Trento to admire how the city was arranged over 2000 years ago.

The project is part of the cultural heritage promotion by the municipal administration and was carried out by the Culture, Tourism and Events Office of the Municipality of Trento, in close collaboration with the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Department for Cultural Heritage of the Autonomous Province of Trento.

The itinerary, reconstructed in its splendour with accurate renderings that are faithful to the historical reality, will be an opportunity to get to know in a different way the archaeological finds that have been preserved to this day and the parts of these enchanting places that can still be visited: Porta Veronensis, Palazzo Lodron, the Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas | Sas Underground Archaeological Space, the Roman Villa of Orfeo and the Amphitheatre, of which only a few traces remain today, now hidden inside various private houses built over the centuries after its destruction.

The experience, suitable from the age of 8 and not recommended for people with sensory impairments, lasts about ten minutes and will be available free of charge until 31 January 2024 from Tuesday to Friday from 15.00 to 19.00, on Saturday and Sunday from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 14.00 to 19.00. The chapel is also accessible to persons with motor disabilities, from the inner courtyard of Palazzo Thun.
