«La Pompeiana» by Segantini in Arco

The Municipality of Arco will enrich its Segantini’s collection, exhibited in the G. Segantini art gallery (currently closed for restauration), with the purchase of a new work: "La Pompeiana" ("Pompeian woman"), dated between 1888 and 1890, executed with pastel technique and watercolour tempera on cardboard. The work will be exhibited for the first time in Arco next spring, after the reopening of the gallery.

By purchasing this new painting by Segantini, the municipal administration continues to enhance both the artist, born in Arco in 1858, and the city of Arco as a place of Segantini.

The dedicated website www.segantiniearco.it opens with the Segantini Map, an interactive workstation which allows visitors to access all the public collections around the world in possession of works by Segantini, to search through the sites of these museums and enjoy full-screen renderings of the masterpieces of the artist held in these collections.
