The parish church of Avio, one of the most significant monuments of the artistic heritage of Trentino, was put up between 1651 and 1695 on a design by Domenico Visetti. The interior has a single nave and six side chapels with marble altars of wonderful craftsmanship, adorned with important altar pieces by Guercino, Andrea Celesti and other well-known painters of the seventeenth century. The entire wall surface is decorated with frescoes and stucco reliefs.

Over the last thirty years a lot of conservation interventions have been made on murals, on stucco decorations and on the following altar pieces:

- Madonna del Rosario con i santi Domenico, Caterina da Siena, Pietro Martire e Pio V Ghisilieri con i Quindici Misteri del Rosario (Madonna of the Rosary with St. Dominic, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Peter Martyr and Pio V Ghisilieri with the Fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary) – that may be dated between 1595 and 1605 and is probably the work of a Mantuan painter from the circle of Ippolito Andreasi (restoration work by “Restart”, Nicola Donadoni’s firm in Albino in the province of Bergamo);

- Le sante Lucia e Apollonia (St. Lucy and St. Apollonia), 1670, by Francesco Barbieri, called "lo Sfrisato" (Legnago, 1623 - Verona, 1698), which was donated by Antonio Campagnola from Avio, parish priest of Legnago;

- Madonna col Bambino reggente lo scapolare e i santi Rocco e Sebastiano (Madonna with Child bearing a scapular, St. Rocco and St. Sebastian), painted by the Roman painter Stefano Catani between 1677 and 1678 (he also painted the high altar’s altar piece);

- San Francesco che riceve le stigmate (St. Francis receiving the stigmata), which is to be attributed to the painter Giovanni Marchi from Verona and dated back to 1720, or even before, (restoration work by “Stefanini & Di Franco associates”, Meano, Trento).
