from Tuesday 19 January 2021

From Tuesday 19 January 2021 the Spazio Archeologico Sotterraneo del Sas (Sas Underground Archaeological Space) is open to the public.

Following the new regulations, access to the site will be in accordance with the foreseen measures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors, who must wear a face covering and respect social distancing.

The opening times are temporarily the following: from Tuesday to Friday, from 14.00 to 18.00. No booking required.

The Roman city of two thousand years ago is ready to welcome visitors in safety: they can walk along the decumanus preserved in the site and admire the mosaics of the domus. They can also visit the exhibition "Ostriche e vino. In cucina con gli antichi romani" (Oysters and wine. Cooking and the ancient Romans) to have a glimpse on food culture in ancient times. The visit route has not been reduced, but the entrance and exit have been differentiated.

Public access will be regulated in order to avoid crowds and gatherings. Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available at the entrance and along the route.

While waiting to welcome school groups, the activity for schools continues online on the portal Trentino Cultura (www.cultura.trentino.it/Temi/Archeologia ): here, the “Servizi educativi” (office for educational activities) of the Archaeological Heritage Office of the Department for Cultural Heritage regularly enhance and update materials, fact sheets and proposals; they're available in the sections "A scuola con l'archeologia”"Archeologo anch'io" e "Ti racconto l'archeologia"('At school with archaeology', 'I'm an an archaeologist too' and 'I'll tell you about archaeology').

In addition, more in-depth studies on the Roman Tridentum are offered, either by distance learning or with the museum educator in the classroom.
