Kawai in Ledro/Sounds in Ledro - 17th year
With "Kawai," classical music echoes in the Ledro valley
Kawai a Ledro/Suoni a Ledro is a high-profile summer concert season born in 2004 from an idea and for the passion and generous support of Roberto Furcht, managing director of Furcht & C. in Milan, flanked by Angelo Foletto.
Since 2017 it has been artistically led by Davide Cabassi, protagonist since the first editions as a pianist, teacher, popularizer and organizer. The exhibition, dedicated in particular to the piano, immediately set itself the ambitious goal of being a stage for the international solo world, with a keen eye on young talents. Hence the privileged relationship established with the Busoni Award of Bolzano, whose winners are regularly hosted. But also the consolidated and prestigious collaboration with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento.
Since 2018, programming has been oriented towards a broader and ‘widespread’ proposal. With appointments linked to the most representative naturalistic, artistic and environmental places of the Ledro Valley, and the involvement of local musicians.
The new breath of the festival in 2020 was announced by “Musica sull’acqua” a unique open-air event, in global broadcasting and live via streaming, held on 12 August 2020 in collaboration with the Municipality of Ledro, the Apt Valle di Ledro and Kawai Pianoforti Italia Srl, starring Tatiana Larionova and Davide Cabassi at the piano, with an overture with the Cima d’Oro Chorus directed by Cristian Ferrari. The recording, broadcast by RaiCultura / Rai5 on 24 June 2021, is available on https://www.raiplay.it/programmi/concertosullacqua-suonialedro.
The project that the health emergency had postponed to 2021, and which had a spring prelude with two appointments at Easter and Pentecost, will this year have new lymph from the collaboration with the Garda Dolomiti Apt. The 2022 edition of KAWAI A LEDRO / SUONI A LEDRO is dedicated to Giuliano Pellegrini who, with affection, personal and institutional availability, was the first and most loyal supporter of the season.
Free admission to all the events part of “Kawai a Ledro/Suoni a Ledro” 2022 - except for the event on 6 August (Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento)
