Palazzo Thun | Open Palazzos 2022

Cultural exhibitions and events , Guided tour

Over the centuries Palazzo Thun has been overlooking the ancient Contrada Larga in the heart of the city of Trento.
Throughout this time, it has been a constantly changing place: agglomeration of Gothic buildings in the Middle Ages, Renaissance palace, private and opulent residence of Count Matteo Thun in the 19th century.
From 1873 until today it has been home to the city's Town Hall. A visit to discover the history of the many lives of a palace that also reflects the transformation of the city in which it stands.

Curated by the Trentino history museum foundation

In addition to the visit, in the courtyard of Palazzo Thun, visitors can enjoy the exhibition "Trento, 1975-1990: La svolta" - until 11 November 2022 - for an immersion in curious facts, memories and discoveries of that 15-year period through photographs of a forgotten everyday life.

The visit will start from the exterior of the Palazzo and pass through the inner portico and courtyard to continue to the splendid Billiard Room, Mirror Room, Pompeian Room, Fire Room, Matteo Thun's bedroom, Dawn Room and Dining Room.
