Sentinels of Stone 2017

The festival held in Trentino’s Circuit of Forts is back this year: a rich programme of shows, hikes, children's workshops, readings, theatre and exhibitions in the unique and picturesque fortresses of Trentino.

Trentino’s Circuit of Forts announces the third Sentinelle di Pietra exhibition, more than 100 years since the start of hostilities between Austria and Italy. From one fort to another on the Path of Peace - from Tonale to the Dolomites, via Lake Garda - the project aims to develop and promote the Forts of Trentino. Sites designed for war will be transformed into instruments for spreading knowledge about history and peace, via the arts.

Three different theatre shows feature in the rich and varied programme, hosted in three Austro-Hungarian forts: representations that offer new insights and reflections on the Great War.

For families, especially the youngest, there will be a series of easy hikes along the Path of Peace to eight forts, accompanied by moments of theatre and suitable for everyone.

There is also a full calendar of concerts by the Cori del Trentino and visits to the forts accompanied by theatre.
