Cultural exhibitions and events

The programme of the 66th edition of the Trento Film Festival is characterised by several prestigious events, with famous personalities from the world of mountaineering, cinema, culture, and performing arts, and by a high quality film schedule: 710 film applications; 149 scheduled films, of which 25 films competing for the prizes. 150 events, not only evening-shows but also meetings, exhibitions and conferences.

The "boundaries" of alpinism and the "slow mountain" at the centre of the festival's events.

The manifesto of this year's festival is by illustrator and graphic designer Philip Giordano. He was born of Philippine mother and Swiss father, in Savona in 1980. A few years ago he moved to Shibuya, in Japan.

The “Destination…” project invites to discover a country - Japan - connected to the Festival through territory and culture, by combining the interest in landscapes and nature with the interest in society and current events.

Reinhold Messner, writer Paolo Rumiz, actor Rocco Pappaleo and Alessandro De Bertolini are among the guests of the 2018 edition.

The festival offers a rich programme of exhibitions, with themes ranging from Japan, the Great War, to the mountain in all its forms. Illustration and photography are given particular importance.

Finally, “TFF Family” is the festival’s section that includes all initiatives taking place at the “Parco dei Mestieri” and those addressed to families and children.
