Remembrance day 2018

10 February in the libraries of Trentino

With the law no. 92 of 30 March 2004, the Italian Republic established the 10 February as  Remembrance Day to preserve and renew the memory of the tragedy of the Italians and all the victims of the Foibe, the exodus from their lands of Dalmatians and peolple of Istria and Fiumeafter World War II, and of the more complex events of the eastern border.

10 February 1947 was the day when the peace treaty was signed: it assigned Istria and most of Venezia Giulia to Yugoslavia.

The Libraries of the Trentino's library system celebrate this day by offering shows, meetings and bibliographic exhibitions, as detailed here below:

Levico, 9 February, City Council Hall: theatrical performance for schools Nella pancia della balena (In the belly of the whale) curated by Teatro d’acqua dolce. The "foibe" massacres told by two young boys.

Cles, 9 February, in Sala Borghesi Bertolla at 21.00: theatre and dance show Il lungo esodo (The great exodus)

Borgo Valsugana, civic library, at 9.00: meeting with the students of the ENAIP school.

In the libraries of Ala, Borgo Valsugana and Levico: bibliographic exhibition dedicated to the the Remembrance Day.
