The “Batterie Roncogno” rose out of the hills on the slopes of Mount Celva, a little above the Cimirlo Pass.
Together with Fort Cimirlo and the constructions in Civezzano on the opposite front, it constituted one of the strongholds east of the fortress of Trento. It barred the Cimirlo Pass.
After a first intervention in 1927, in 2008 a second restoration project by the Trento-Sopramonte Forest Commission was decided to make the fort ready for visits, in collaboration with the Trentino Province’s Soprintendenza per I beni architettonici.
