Telve museum of customs and traditions - Telve Valsugana

Collection of objects of farming and artisan's labour

The collection of work tools etc of peasants and craftsmen began in Telve in 1985 and led to the setting up of a museum which is housed in the Municipal Library building. On the ground floor there is the blacksmith's shop, complete with equipment from the forge of Albino Zanetti and the carpenter's shop. The barn and the cellar are the spaces that in the past were assigned respectively to farming and winemaking and wine storage. Now you can see exhibited in the first a rich collection of bells, milking stools, buckets and everything needed to provide animal feed in addition to the various tools to work the land, for haymaking and for wooding. In the second are wine casks, vats, barrels and tools for pressing grapes and racking wine. Then comes the part devoted to woodcutting with saws and frame-saws, and means of transport: bròzi, wagons, sleds and wheelbarrows. Upstairs, there is the reconstruction of the dairy for processing milk from mountain pastures, then the bedroom and kitchen, complete with furnishings and artefacts.
