A Christmas recipe

written and directed by Francesco Cappai and Leonardo Tomasi
with Michela Cidu, Elisa Giglio, Federico Giaime Nonnis and Alessandro Redegoso
Ah! Christmas! Festoons, bows, ribbons, and then again letters, presents, lights and the dinner, toasts, mistletoe, snow, Christmas tree, decorations, dances, songs... The elves know the process of 'making' Christmas so well that those gestures become more and more empty, while the scene becomes more and more full. What if Christmas was more than just lights, sumptuous dinners and the mistletoe on the door?
A very long Godotian wait, Samuel Beckett forbid, for something to give meaning to Christmas, and the turkey to be cooked that does not arrive. Will the two be connected?
The show is about the essence of traditions, in search of what lies beneath the routine. In a colourful and musical game of Chinese boxes, children will discover the values hidden behind the ordinariness of gestures that sometimes, deprived of their content, remain pure form.
