The Great War was a time when the human effort, sacrifice and courage of individual fighters as well as of entire communities, were put to the test.
Sunday, 25 January at 11:30 am, the Gianni Caproni aeronautical museum will open the painting exhibition "Bravery and beauty": with it, seven important contemporary Italian artists pay tribute to the courage, life, ideals and events that have written many pages of history.

“There is an ethical beauty in the challenge, in the physical courage of those who do not hold back, but who expose themselves to danger instead” - writes Vittoria Coen, exhibition curator -. The exhibition is a tribute to brave fighter Francesco Baracca: artists from diverse backgrounds interpret his life.

Promoted by the Cultural association “La Stanza delle idee”, the painting exhibition is part of the interactive exhibition “Tribute to the rampant horse - Francesco Baracca between Myth and History”; it’s a temporary exhibition now on at the Gianni Caproni aeronautical museum and is in fact dedicated to the greatest ace of Italian fighter planes during World War I.

The painters Fernando De Filippi, Franco Marrocco, Francesco Martani, Nino Migliori, Mauro Mazzali, Daniele Nalin and Franco Savignano have suggested and carried out a painting to pay homage to Francesco Baracca and to his feats; these paintings feature the silhouette of the prancing horse, the iconography of the flight, the charm of the starry sky.

The visit to the exhibition is included in the museum’s admission ticket
