Buonconsiglio Castle - Accessible museum to all

Meetings and conferences

On the occasion of the International Day of the Rights of the Disabled Persons, the Buonconsiglio Castle will publish on Youtube and on the museum's social pages (at midday)the new multisensory model of the castle, designed for the museum's special public.

Throughout the day, the staff of the Educational Services will be available to the public in the Sala del Buonconsiglio (Marangonerie) to illustrate the model and the project.

The model, created as part of the Accessible Museum for All Project, is an innovative tool that allows everyone to approach the complex architectural structure of the Buonconsiglio Castle and discover its history and evolution over the centuries:

it is a three-dimensional model of the building, accompanied by an audio description to guide blind peole in their tactile exploration of the castle, a video guide in LIS - Italian Sign Language - with subtitles for deaf people, and simple videographic information that can be immediately understood by everyone. The model is also completed by two tactile tablets reproducing the facades of Castelvecchio and the Magno Palazzo.

The project is the result of a constant comparison and a participatory collaboration process with the main local associations, the National Agency for the Deaf (ENS, Ente Nazionale Sordi) - Provincial Section of Trento, the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired (UICI, Unione Italiana dei Ciechi e degli Ipovedenti Onlus)- APS Territorial Section of Trento, and AbC IRIFOR of Trentino, under the careful scientific supervision of some professors of the Center for Mind/Brain (CIMeC, Centro Interdipartimentale Mente/Cervello) of the University of Trento.
