Coats of arms on drawers. Wolkenstein Family Histories and Genealogies

Walter Landi

A curious and rare cabinet-archive that belonged to the Counts Wolkenstein-Trostburg is the focus of this first meeting. Intended to house the family archives, the cabinet is made up of compartments and drawers decorated with coats of arms belonging to families linked to the powerful Tyrolean family through a careful policy of matrimonial alliances. An opportunity to investigate and illustrate the family history, but also to approach the world of heraldry, an ancient language rich in symbols and meanings to be discovered.
