Conference title: "Simone Consolati, collector of antiques and contemporaries"

On the occasion of the exhibition on Riposo durante la fuga in Egitto (Under the sky of Egypt) by Francesco Hayez , the museum proposes four special meetings, held by art historians who present fascinating themes and talk with the audience.

Today's meeting, curated by Emanuela Rollandini, will deal with Simone Consolati, the nobleman who commissioned Francesco Hayez' masterpiece, and who was a refined lover of fine arts. Consolati is only now being revealed in his many facets as a connoisseur, collector, bibliophile and patron, as well as guardian of the ancient cultural memories of his city.

The next meeting entitled "Francesco Hayez in Andrea Maffei's Collection" will take place on 22 January.
