Two days of workshops and performances with artists, educational workshops for adults and children, guided tours of exhibitions, meetings with curators.

The Mart takes part in the 13th Contemporary Art Day promoted by the AMACI - the Association of Italian Museums of Contemporary Art - with “Mart Up! Vivi il museo” (“Mart Up! Experience the museum”) for the seventh year; it’s a series of free events for visitors of all ages: educational workshops for adults and children, guided tours of exhibitions, meetings with curators.

Saturday 14 October, Contemporary Art Day

  • 10.30-18.00, educational area: Calligrafia: dall’arte applicata allo strumento espressivo”
    Workshop about the art of calligraphy curated by  Luca Barcellona. For young people and adults.
  • 11.00-12.30, exhibition rooms: “Come esploro io”
    Workshop curated by Laura Albertini, Flaminia Barbato and Roberta Palma about a compelling experience of the museum and its artworks. For young people and adults.
  • 15.00-18.00, Foyer: “Se la carta fa Pop-Up”
    Workshop curated by Roberta Bridda on the creation of pop-up books. For children aged 4 – 12.
  • 15.00-16.00, conference room: “Mart Membership”
    Presentation of the new Membership card
  • 15.00-16.00, exhibition rooms: “All the "isms" of Armando Testa”
    Guided visit of the exhibition.
  • 16.00-17.00, exhibition rooms: “Tutto Testa”
    Meet the exhibition’s curators of the exhibition “All the "isms" of Armando Testa”
  • 17.00-18.00, exhibition rooms: “Sounds at an Exhibition”
    Isabella Fabbri plays her sax in the exhibition rooms of “L’irruzione del contemporaneo” (“The incursion of the contemporary”): a museum experience based on the relationship between music and visual arts.

Sunday 15 October

  • 10.00-11.30, Foyer: “Aggiungere e Togliere uno Zero”
    Workshop curated by OHT | Filippo Andreatta, in collaboration with Chiara Santuari, inspired by “The powers of ten” , a 1977 film by Charles by Ray Eames. For children aged 4 – 12.
  • 11.30-12.30, exhibition rooms: “Sounds at an Exhibition”
    Isabella Fabbri plays her sax in the exhibition rooms of “L’irruzione del contemporaneo” (“The incursion of the contemporary”): a museum experience based on the relationship between music and visual arts.
  • 14.00-18.00, educational area: “Di-segni Di-sogni. Almanacco di sogni illustrati”
    Workshop curated by Lara Caputo on the creation and illustration of fantastic stories. For young people and adults.
  • 15.00-16.00, exhibition rooms:  “Un’eterna bellezza. Il canone classico nell’arte italiana del primo Novecento” (“An Eternal Beauty. The Classical Canon in Early 20th-century Italian Art”). Guided visit of the exhibition.
  • 15.00-16.30, Babymart anad exhibition rooms:  “Il gioco della pittura
    Workshop curated by Adriano Siesser to play on the artworks by Giorgio de Chirico on display. For children aged 4 – 10.
  • 16.30-16.50 | 17.00-17.20, Foyer: “La musica delle mani”
    Performance of sand designs and music curated by Nadia. For children, young people and adults.
