Alessio Boni in the role of the errant knight and Serra Yilmaz, Ferzan Ozpetek's muse, in that of Sancho Panza, are the protagonists of Cervantes' immense work.

"Who is mad? Who is normal?" asks Alessio Boni, co-author of the show's dramaturgy and direction. "Perhaps those who live in their lucid madness still manage to perform heroic acts. Or better: perhaps it takes some form of madness, even more than courage, to perform heroic acts.

The lucid madness is what allows you to suspend, for an eternal moment, the sense of the limit.

Don Quixote goes further: he transcends this awareness and fights for an ethical, heroic ideal. An ideal that enriches every daily gesture with value. And which, unintentionally, made him immortal. [...] Men who, over the centuries, have dared to break free from a network of pre-determined rules - availing themselves of dreams, fantasy, imagination - have often been considered 'mad'. Yet, they were rehabilitated by history itself. After all, it is precisely those who are mad enough to believe in their vision of the world, and go against the tide, who deserve to be remembered in eternity: among others, Galileo, Leonardo, Mozart, Che Guevara, Mandela, Mother Teresa, Steve Jobs and, why not, Don Quixote.
