From an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi. Curated by Denis IsaiaWhereMart RoveretoTypeExhibition

The Mart presents an exploration of Mira Forte Caizzi’s bequest, consisting of a group of works that reflect the collector’s interest in the languages and materials of modern art.

While the archaic-looking torso by Arnaldo Pomodoro, with its enamels on chrome-plated brass, is a work that still has classical references, Emilio Isgrò’s compositions or Mario Schifano’s broad, rapid brushstrokes on emulsified canvas are characterised by typically modern trends such as the abstract expressiveness of the surfaces and conceptualism.

The small collection is an example of the growing interest, during the 1960s and 1970s, in collecting these new languages.
