Forgery in art. Alceo Dossena and Italian Renaissance sculpture

At Mart Rovereto an important exhibition focusing on Alceo Dossena (1878-1937)‘genuine forger’ and author of a wealth of sculptural work in the style of the ancient and Renaissance masters. A whole series of full-blown masterpieces capable of pulling the wool over even the most expert eyes, which critics attributed to DonatelloSimone MartiniGiovanni and Nino PisanoAndrea del Verrocchio and other famous artists of the past. Over one hundred sculptures from private and public collections present the greatest selection of Dossena work exhibited to date.

Costs

To avoid waiting at the entrance, visitors are invited to buy their tickets online here  (booking fee € 1). Reservation is not compulsory and tickets can also be purchased at the ticket office on the day of the visit.

In observance of recent pandemic regulations (legislative decree no. 105 dated 23/07/2021), entry to the Mart, the Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero and the Galleria Civica premises will be subject to checking of a Green Pass from 6 August.

Said provision does not apply to children under the age of 12 and to persons who possess suitable medical certification issued in accordance with the criteria set out by the Minister for Health.
